Flotation Energy plc – has announced plans to develop two major windfarms in Ireland.

Greystones is a 1GW fixed offshore windfarm, off the Irish Sea coast near Dublin.

Blackwater is a 1.5GW floating windfarm, located off the County Wexford Coast in the Celtic Sea.

Flotation Energy’s CEO and co-founder, Lord Nicol Stephen, said “This is a major step into Ireland and builds on our already considerable success in the UK, having recently completed Kincardine, the world’s largest floating offshore windfarm, as well as securing development rights for both the 480MW Morecambe fixed offshore project and the 100MW White Cross floating offshore project. This combined with our broader project development portfolio in Europe, Taiwan, Japan and Australia ensures our Team continues to be at the very forefront of offshore wind technology. We are excited to bring this expertise to our Irish projects and support the Irish Government’s ambitious renewable targets.”
