Flotation Energy’s Keynote Presentation Sets the Scene for Strategic Offshore Wind Workshop in Taiwan
Flotation Energy’s Co-founder and Technical Director Allan MacAskill was asked to develop a keynote speech at Taiwan’s recent Floating Offshore Wind Workshop for Urgent Demonstration Issues conference, organised by National Taiwan University (NTU) and Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC).
Floating offshore wind has become an urgent and important issue as Taiwan looks to capitalise on the vast opportunities for clean, sustainable energy delivery and develop a significant 20.7 GW of offshore wind power by 2035.
The conference’s aim was to promote and accelerate a new Floating Offshore Wind Demonstration Project in the country, and who better to speak to than the team that pioneered and developed the world’s largest operational floating wind farm, 50 MW Kincardine, 15 kilometres off the Scottish coast at Aberdeenshire.
Unable to attend in person, Allan delivered a powerful and insightful keynote video presentation that opened the floor for much discussion and excitement around the many prospects that lie ahead for Taiwan’s offshore wind industry.
